infinix note 12 says that this device can go from 0 to 100 in 17 minutes well i may got to see how that works so i'm going to go ahead and plug this now don't worry it's not charging yet and now i'll get the timer and you know we're going to just set 17 minutes to the clock and we'll get the timer started.

Infinix Note 12 Unboxing and Overview

 so before diving into the features we'll start with the unboxing of this device many environmentally conscious flagship boxes have become a very brief and flat experience this has been a trend since 2020.

Design and Build Quailty Overview

go the infinix note 12 vip gets top marks the device comes in two colors after seeing both colors first hand it is almost difficult to decide which one i like better generally infinix has never been shy with the design of their devices looking back at other devices you can tell that they want you to fall in love at first sight with their devices before you even know what they carry on the inside infinix calls the two colors that this device comes in you know the cayenne grey and the force black seeing the first black color first hand was a bit confusing considering.

that it looked darker in the shade of blue than black but either way in both colors the infinix note 12 vip looks like a premium device infinix note 12 if you're someone who just likes your device to look you know plain and premium then i think you would prefer the cayenne gray color but if you like to have the extra touch of color effect then the gradient color feel of the force black will suit you away from the colors and holding this device in my hands does not fall short of expectations either with infinix auto vip you know you won't miss out on what it feels like to hold a premium device.

i have the iphone 12 pro max i've used the samsung galaxy s2 ultra and i think it's safe to say that infinix the 12 vip is almost reaching the same levels as these two devices which you know they both cost more than three times the price.

Design Quality Overview

of the note 12 vip infinix says that the back of this device is made from a glass fiber material please note that this is not glass it is more like a high quality plastic material the sides however are made from aluminium somewhat like what apple has been doing since the iphone 12 for the iphone 12 series it is a very flat two and if you want to you can stand your phone you know on the side if you ever have a use case for that the front of the device is also glass but it's not corning's gorilla glass.

so i cannot really see just how tough the screen would be maybe that is why they added a screen protector maybe you also cannot miss the bold camera system on the back for the cayenne gray color that we have here i like how the camera area adds some contrast to the look of the back of the device one thing worth mentioning about you know the camera setup is that despite having such a huge 108 megapixel sensor you don't get a huge camera bump it is still flat on the back and avoids creating a wobble or too much of a wobble when the device is on a flat surface but it still does do that i think having the setup span across this back in this manner contributed to eliminating much of that wobble considering the size and weight i think infinix trying to keep this device as close to the middle of the scale as possible it is definitely not a portable device at approximately 6.44 inches and it weighs 199 grams still you don't get something too big or too heavy finally going around the device you get the tray on the left side that can take two nano sims and one micro sd card on the other side on the right side.

we have the standard volume rockers and the power button infinix note 12 the power button doubles as a fingerprint reader and if you you know you watch my reviews it's where i like the fingerprint reader to be at the bottom of the device you get the headphone port you get a microphone the usbc charging port and the speaker girl at the top we get another speaker grille and the microphone to give you a stereo listening experience and the sound quality was quite nice on the infinix note 12 vip even it's got the fingerprint free design right with this device on the back if you do not want to use the phone with a case you don't have to worry about the back of your phone being a fingerprint magnet the matte finish on the back saves you from that stress.

but the front is a fingerprint magnet the information 12 vips display is another category that i'm highly impressed with you get a 6.7 inch amoled display with a 10 bit color depth on paper for the screen's resolution it is 1080 by 2400 pixels uh with the screen and a refresh rate of 120 hertz the touch sampling rate is as high as 360 hertz and its contrast ratio is 400 000 to 1. another quirk is that it can hit a peak brightness of 700 nits in summary this screen was designed infinix note 12 to impress numbers aside the display of this device did not disappoint the 10-bit color depth was evident in how the colors on the screen popped both on the interface and when i watched videos with it uh if you have the internet bandwidth this phone can stream up to 1440p content in 60 frames per second and i can assure you that you will definitely enjoy it you enjoy the displays quality.

i like how the colors were punching the 700 nits of peak brightness also came in handy when i had to use this device in the direct sunlight even watching videos and scrolling on social media i could still see my screen outdoors on a sunny day and in this lego sun this is definitely an essential factor i think it's also worth mentioning that it gets pretty dark too when you combine the jack theme with the minimum brightness on this device you will also be comfortable using this phone in the dark and it can save you some battery now here's where it gets tough the infinix 12 vip is powered by mediatek's helio g96 chipset.

Performance Overview

as for ram and storage you get the base of 8 gigs of ram and 256 gigs of internal storage additionally you can expand your ram capacity by up to 5 gigabytes to give you 13 gigabytes of ram if you need more storage space you can get an external micro sd card that can take up to two terabytes of capacity you also get all of the optimization features that comes with google's latest android 12 and infinix's xos 10.6 the helio g96 processor in this device is the same as what you will find on most mid-range devices that have come out this year it is also the same chipset that infinix fit in the note 11 series from last year on the one hand there is no denying.

that it is very it's a very capable chipset however it's a little bit difficult to shake the feeling that an upgraded chipset would have been better or would have been ideal for this device all of that aside i did not have any performance issues while using this device i use this as my main daily driver for a couple of days and i have no complaints about its performance for regular daily usage pushing the performance features of this device a little bit further in the gaming department um this is where things got interesting infinix says that this device is a monster game kit this is somewhat explained in the several little optimizations like the xrna darling 2.0 which has you know been added to aid your gaming experience i wouldn't say this is the optimal gaming experience if you're a casual gamer like me then you should have zero issues with how this performs with gaming however i did notice that the device responded differently to different games if you're a pubg fan you will surely enjoy this device playing pubg was smooth and lag free even at the highest graphics quality while pubg is not the most graphic intensive game in the world it certainly requires a lot of processing power for extensive open world gameplay i also noticed that the game prompted me that the ultra hd mode and some other modes the hdr mode would soon be available for the infinix neutral vip so i really don't know what that means as far as kenshin impact which is just about as graphic intensive as you can get the game ran very smoothly at the lowest graphics setting i decided to push this device to its limits by playing gameshow impact at its highest graphics setting while the game alerted me that.

i was of course overclocking the device i was shocked that the game was able to run pretty okay at the highest levels of graphics but i started to see some lagging and it wasn't so nice however the motion was still smooth up until it began to drop some frames and the lagging just became more and more and the game was almost unplayable one thing that is also worth mentioning is that the device started getting a little warm after some minutes of gaming i noticed this especially while playing game changing impact specifically this game i think it's too heavy if any says that it has built a nine layer graphing cooling system into this device i think that's this system has helped to keep the machine from overheating and underperforming considering that i was jumping from one game to the next game often within the same breath but it was still warm finally on gaming as a huge fan of call of duty there was no way i was not going to test this device without playing call of duty sadly unlike the capabilities of this device for ganshin impact and pubg call of duty kind of misses out i'll go right out to say that call of duty ran well without any lag whatsoever however.

i have a problem because i could not play higher than the medium graphics for call of duty while the bright and colorful display compensates for the shortcomings if you're a call of duty elitist this might bother you really so that you can't play in the higher graphics settings on infinix note 12 you are stuck with that medium setting this device has about everything you could need as an everyday user and even if you push this device with multitasking gaming on infinix note 12 i think it still holds up nicely i do not believe the few drawbacks would be enough to write it off completely in the performance department just yet.

Charging Result

all right uh our 17-minute timer is about rounding up in five four three two one moment on infinix note 12 of truth so i'm going to put the phone on and we'll see the battery percentage all right so the phone is on and as you can see uh here we've got 84 in 70 minutes of charging in infinix note 12 and this is with furious mode turned on while this isn't as advertised it's still quite impressive to see and it's infinix note 12 the fastest charging device we've had in the studio all right we tested it further and it took only three minutes and 28 seconds extra to get this phone to 100 so what does this mean basically in total you should get to that 100 mark in 20 minutes and 28 seconds on average from zero to 100 in 20 minutes comment below what you think of this charging speed.

Battery Performance Overview

by the way the infinix nu12 vip comes infinix note 12 with a 4500 milliamp hour battery and i was pretty impressed with how this battery performed when i had the device uh on one occasion i timed my gaming session after 30 minutes of gaming just about one percent infinix note 12 of the battery in infinix note 12 was deducted i found that to be absolutely amazing using the infinix note 12 vip as my main driver for a couple of days running social media apps media apps gaming constantly texting and streaming content on youtube netflix all of that all.

i needed was a full charge infinix note 12 and i was good to go for the day but that is where it gets even more interesting charging as i mentioned this is the fastest charging device in infinix note 12 i've ever tested the title was initially held by xiaomi 12 pro which went from 0 to 100 in 35 minutes now there is a furious mode charging in this furious charging mode on infinix note 12 that comes with the infinix 2 vip and this is what allows this device to burst all the way from zero to 100 in 17 minutes as advertised about 20 minutes from our test.

but it's also worth mentioning that i tried charging infinix note 12 this device without the furious mode turned on and the 120 watt charger that comes in the box will get this device from zero to 100 in 27 minutes is still the fastest.

Camera Quality Overview

i did find a lot of comments about how this could affect the battery life over time because it is illegal like that for it to charge that fast and i also think these are very valid concerns first i think that constant exposure to furious charging could affect the battery life in you know in the long term however i believe that infinix plan for it first thing is that the device automatically stops charging infinix note 12 once the device gets to the 100 mark and secondly you can always turn the furious charge mode off you should probably only use it in like emergency situations although that could literally be any day and every day if you are you know if you have the nepa situation in nigeria.

like we all do all right so we've said a lot of things let's talk about the camera on the front of the infinix 12 vip we've got a 16 megapixel wide camera we've also got a really bright dual led flash for selfie videos and photos the highest video resolution in infinix note 12  you will get on the front of the camera is a 2k resolution for the rear side of the phone we've got three cameras here a huge 108 megapixel sensor is accompanied by face detection autofocus and even laser autofocus we've also got a 13 megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor to help with portrait mode something else to take note on you know on the back of the phone is that the quad led flash is quite bright it's like very bright we're getting into the picture quality side of things now we'll start with the selfie quality it is not overly saturated and it looks sharp i also tried portrait mode on infinix note 12  and i think infinix has improved significantly in these aspects one thing i could tell here is that the cameras are now much better and aren't as overexposed as they used to be it's important to note that to get a good shot.

you might need to tap on the screen drag the slider down so that it animates with a sun down icon and then like lower the exposure with the red camera you get some quality but you must also watch out for exposure again by dragging that slider down i like how skin tones are represented here they're not overly saturated again you do notice quite a bit of sharpening in infinix's shots on the back camera whether it's not so bright inside or very bright up close the shots infinix note 12 also look nice and the reds pop when you find the right balance you can also go from a 13 megapixel ultra wide shot which has a fair bit of distortion and lesser sharpness compared to the larger sensors one x photo infinix note 12 which has better dynamic range and even more sharpness you can go up to 5x zoom and even 10x zoom if you want to capture stuff that is far maybe texts or fireway objects and they will be somewhat legible the phone can also shoot in a 108 megapixel mode you can toggle infinix note 12 that on the camera at the top and once you do that you will need to hold steady for you know like one second the file size is also significant there's a significant difference in normal image compared in infinix note 12  to a 108 megapixel image is two megabytes to 16.1 megabytes in infinix note 12 and it's precisely like a seven times difference with the normal shots on your phone infinix note 12 there is a limit to which you can zoom on infinix note 12  but with the 100 megapixel shots you can actually zoom in much further and see much of the detail because of the image size it's 12 000 by 9000 compared to 3900 by 2900 on a regular image on infinix note 12 one thing that surprised me here infinix note 12 is super night mode.

i exclaimed when i first saw the results it was almost like night and infinix note 12 in day really okay this is the night shots and this is how we saw it in real life truly when we turned on night mode or super night mode and we captured it this is what we got it was very bright and the exposure levels were significantly high this was done all by the phone with no editing but the processing is not so great when you zoom i also liked how infinix improved the selfie video quality infinix note 12 although it is less saturated it captures more in dynamic range side of things and you can edit it to suit your your you know videos better you also have portrait video for the front camera which is always nice to see you can also track your eye movement to keep yourself in focus on infinix note 12  but again it is not so saturated it's even a bit washed out somehow the back camera also does a decent job of capturing video and infinix note 12 it can get to start looking too sharp at some point however using the portrait video on the rear camera was a struggle especially if this subject is moving but it can work for more static up close subjects you can see the detail in.

how the lens prioritizes depth of field but that changes if your field infinix note 12 of view is much better or say you're shooting outdoors the stabilization mode is one feature that many people will find very helpful in infinix's the 12 vip camera if you look at this shot it's a regular shot from the camera and then this shot is you know we're trying to walk in a straight line here when you turn stabilization on everything changes and no matter how rough you walk it will produce a smooth footage you know the footage will be smooth within reasonable levels one thing i could not help but constantly comment on this device was its interface.

Interface Update

while it still bugs you with various bloatware apps and notifications in infinix note 12 the user interface on the infinix 12 vip got a massive facelift from what we're used to with infinix devices little things like how the interface is set up the icons for the apps and the colors used everything was what's very noteworthy pun intended the shortcut tab comes up if you swipe and hold from you know the left corner to the right corner and then if you swipe on infinix note 12 from the bottom corner bottom left corner bottom right corner you get google assistant simple stuff like that everything just maintains the feel of the device and lets it look premium .

Security Overview- Face Unlock + Fingerprint Reader

as for security you get the power button fingerprint scanner then face id password pin and pattern the fingerprint scanner was quite responsive i like how once i clicked on the power button it opened up immediately face unlock was impressive with first unlock sometimes it would hit or miss personally because the power button is the fingerprint reader i found myself using it more often than the face unlock feature however the face unlock feature was fast i think the face unlock could still use some improvements with the infinix devices.

all things considered i think it's safe to say that the infinix total vip lived up to its status as an important phone there are of course setting areas where i would have loved to see the 12 vip shine a little more for example the improved ui could have been an excellent opportunity to cut down on the bloatware also the device does not have an ipx water resistance rating in conclusion for its retail price of around 199 900 naira which is 2 200 thousand if you had one hundred in there you are getting the device that you can do just about anything you need and i believe that is the most important thing so many important things happening today as always.
